Well, now we gotta stick around for Will’s statement about this now. 

WHOA. This is... a lot to process. I was done with talking about it but the more new information comes, I'm ready to dive back in. 

I am not that surprised honestly, in his speech he didn't seem to be that apologetic or regret what happened. But I bet they didn't want to make it a bigger scene by forcing him out. 

Holy smokes! That + the incident itself… seems like he has to face at least SOME TYPE of suspension right? 

WOW. Apparently the Academy asked Will to leave after the slap but he "refused." 

“Mr. Smith’s actions at the 94th Oscars were a deeply shocking, traumatic event to witness in-person and on television. Mr. Rock, we apologize to you for what you experienced on our stage and thank you for your resilience in that moment. We also apologize to our nominees, guests and viewers for what transpired during what should have been a celebratory event. Things unfolded in a way we could not have anticipated. While we would like to clarify that Mr. Smith was asked to leave the ceremony and refused, we also recognize we could have handled the situation differently.”
