"Thank you" um how about being more creative than just a plain "thank you".

“I won’t make this long” is the WORST — you know you’re in for it. 

It’s not a quote, but feigning surprise and shock always annoys me, unless it’s a TRUE upset. You know you have a 1/5 chance — why are you so shocked?! False humility is cringe.

I feel like sometimes they're *acting* or performing as an actor who's just won an Oscar. You get the most genuine speeches from the non actors, and you can tell the difference.

What is the most cliched speech phrase you hear during award shows? There are a few that come up frequently that usually are contradicted before the sentence even ends. I've noticed people LOVE to say "I won't make this long" but then take a freakin' hour to speak about their movie. Or "I won't name everyone" and then sound like they're reading off a Kindergarten roll call. (aka So Many Names!)
