Consider this episode of TV. Watch. Repeat. to be a pet project. Not just because Early Edition features an adorable little pet. (Panther, Pella, and Carl the newspaper-delivering cat, to be precise, depending on the episode.) But because my co-host Allison Piwowarski and I bonded over our love for the 1996 cult favorite, which ran just three seasons, but lives forever in our hearts.
Mostly because it counted as a break-out role for Kyle Chandler, the affable lead that would go on to literally explode in Grey's Anatomy and explode in the industry with his leading role in Friday Night Lights. But there's more to the Early Edition story behind-the-scenes — for example, did you know that you have O.J. Simpson to thank for its existence?
