Should anyone replace James Corden?

James Corden announced today he’s leaving The Late Late Show after seven years, which feels like a relatively short tenure:

Of course, I’m sure people will wonder: who will replace him? He was an unlikely choice to begin with, and late night could use a little bit of a shake up. But I think the bigger question is: should anyone replace him? Late night has become a bit of an odd thing in the streaming era — is anyone really staying up late to watch a lukewarm show with two-minute guest interviews?

At this point, is there room on TV for late night, or is it time to retire it once and for all?
