8 'The Witcher' Season 3 Theories, Because That Ending Was Wild

Due to the pandemic, fans had to wait nearly two years in between The Witcher Season 1 and Season 2, and if history repeats itself for Season 3, I may be forced to unleash my inner chaos on the universe. Unlike Season 1, which ended on a somewhat happy note by finally uniting Geralt and Ciri (and those headache-inducing multiple timelines in the process), Season 2 ended with an avalanche of cliffhangers. But none of them was quite as shocking as the big reveal of who The White Flame actually is.

The way characters spoke about the mysterious figure, he seemed destined to be a bit of a Wizard of Oz type — just some average Joe hiding behind a curtain with a fog machine. I, for one, did not expect him to be Ciri's presumed dead father, Duny, who is now going by the far more frightening name Emhyr var Emreis. It turns out the princess' dad has been wreaking all kinds of havoc on The Continent since the series began, with his latest move being murdering an innocent baby elf to incite the elves to wage war on his enemies.

Emhyr is bad news, but his reveal was just one of many jaw-dropping moments in the season finale that left me wondering what might happen when The Witcher Season 3 finally arrives on Netflix.
