Does a new cast member have to have an existing cast connection to work out?

Rumors about the new cast members have made their way onto DeuxMoi:

And it has me wondering how they'll introduce the cast members into the group. One pet peeve of mine is when they try to pretend that some new cast members have a connection to existing cast members when they're basically meeting for the first time on the show — I wish they would be more honest about that, because, in my eyes, it makes no difference to the progression of the show. If we didn’t see their pre-existing friendship, why does it matter that they ever had one?
