I don't think Amanda did anything wrong with Lindsay

A lot of people are talking about Amanda slut-shaming Lindsay at the vineyard for flirting and hooking up with people, all while trying to cover up for "something else." (Presumably LH's miscarriage.) Lindsay says she always dives into the deep end no matter what and has always done that, so she wasn't "covering up" for anything else. It's clear Lindsay isn't putting the pieces together that Amanda is maybe referring to a very recent (and traumatic) experience Lindsay has opened up about to the cast. She's also very defensive because of Paige and Ciara, and not really listening to Amanda. (I also think Amanda means overcompensating, and just used the wrong word... they're all DRUNK keep in mind.)

Lindsay then gets into it with Paige and Ciara, who are definitely coming from a much more attacking-POV than Amanda was (Amanda at this point has left the table crying because she wasn't being understood and emotions were escalating). This just amps up LH.

There has been a lot of conversation about how Amanda shouldn't have brought up Lindsay's miscarriage at all while the two were talking privately. I think she was trying to get Lindsay to realize she was talking about Real Things and not Surface/Show Things. For that, I think what Amanda said was OK! Lindsay has opened up to her about it, Amanda was referencing it. (And as someone not in Lindsay's situation, I can't help but wonder the same thing Amanda was wondering!)

To me, it's clear, Amanda is coming from a good place. (A drunk, but good place.) Paige, no. Paige was definitely being a hater, esp with that therapist line — and I think that helps highlight how Amanda meant everything with the best intentions.

Amanda's intention was to ask her friend if she was OK. Should she have originally done it more privately, probably. Especially with the messiness of Lindsay/Paige/Ciara/Danielle dynamics. But do I think she was WRONG? No. I really don't think she did anything wrong.

What do you think?
