In my experience, the method used to wash the clothes often wears them out more than anything (although price and quality are factors, too). For example, folks often machine wash / tumble dry clothes that have tag instructions to dry clean only. Not following the instructions will cause clothes to stretch, shrink, fuzz, etc. - quickly reducing the quality and life of the clothes. Of course if you don’t like hand washing or dry cleaning, that’s fine - but definitely read the tags before buying.

I think a $30 dress will look like a $30 dress. Idk if there's a dollar amount to shoot for specifically, but Zara makes good clothing for cheap. Not $30 cheap, but cheap. Same with ASOS

Sometimes I'll find myself getting served an ad on IG with a cute dress, and then I click in and see that it's, like, $30. Not only does that mean it's most likely fast fashion (and I don't love how bad that is for the environment and people), but it also probably means it will fall apart in one wash. 

But, at the same time, I don't always want to spend top dollar for a dress, unless it's for special occasions. So if I just want something cute, that will last me more than one wear, what's the right $ to shoot for? And are there any affordable designers that also are good and wearable?
