The announcement of the first Saturday Night Live host of the season invited much anticipation: Would it be the beleaguered John Mulaney? Dune star and "Tiny Horse" aficionado Timothée Chalamet? There are many options the SNL fandom would celebrate — and probably none of those options were Kim Kardashian West.
The comedy nerd who celebrates irreverence and balks at the amount of stunt casting in Studio 8H in recent years might be hesitant, particularly following the show's headline-grabbing host attempts of yore, like last season's Elon Musk and He Who Shall Not Be Named in 2015. But as much as those fans might expect Kardashian West to let them down, those fans do not know Kardashian West. This is a woman who is here for our entertainment.
