Season 6 of Riverdale is veering hard in the direction of the supernatural, with Sabrina Spellman and some less adorable otherworldly creatures making appearances in the show's latest trailer. Yet it wasn't the the ghouls and Blair Witch Project vibes that raised eyebrows. Instead, it was something that Betty seemingly tells Archie mere minutes before the two hookup, Bughead style, on the couch: "There's nothing more that I want than to have your baby."

It's a record scratch moment, because it implies that there may be a Barchie baby on the way — or at least, the potential for one. It would line up quite well with an Instagram caption from showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, in which he just so happened to include a mysterious blonde pregnant woman emoji. Did that symbol stand for none other than FBI agent Betty Cooper?!?

We know that Betty and Archie are once again getting hot and heavy in Season 6, but are they also taking their romance from "let's see where this goes!" to "let's go halfsies on diapers"? It just seems so wild, but hey — Season 6 is clearly like nothing we've ever seen from Riverdale before.

So while we're speculating about this Barchie baby, here are a few scenarios that I think could play out should the Betty and Archie child not just be the work of a cleverly edited trailer.
