I think it is within your power entirely to skip it and go straight to the no-makeup phase. If you feel like you have to dress up for a dude for him to like you, he’s probably too shallow for you anyway.

I would be utterly charmed if a date suggested we just hang out in sweatpants, drink wine, and watch Netflix. 

Is it weird that I actually like this phase? I'm just not a talker, so I like it when there is just SO much to talk about since you don't know ANYTHING about the other person. Once you know them so well, I find that personal conversations (as opposed to topical ones about politics/pop culture) are harder to get going. The talking phase in some ways is way more intimate and exciting than any other phase. After several years together, you'll be dying to put on makeup and hear smthg new from them

I typically like it, because it's when I get to flex all my ~material~. My funny stories that I know will make them laugh, the anecdotes that make me seem interesting... I know it makes me sound like a narcissist, but it can be self-affirming, in a sense. 

But I HATE the next phase – when you have to stop doing small talk and actually try to get to know the person for real. That's when I might be exposed as the bore I really am. 

Just be yourself!! I can tell you're overthinking it. It's supposed to be fun so just have fun!

Life is short, sometimes I feel like you just gotta shoot your shot and call it out when things are stuck in the talking phase. Like ok, glad we are chatting but let's go out soon, are you free Friday at 7pm to go to the Cheesecake Factory? 

I hate the talking phase So much. But now that I am triple vaxxed I really want to find people to date. However I hate asking the boring questions and being all nervous and. having to wear make up and impress the person that I am dating. 

I want to skip straight  to the phase where I am comfortable enough to not wear make up and they are comfortable enough to tell me their daily medicine routine lol. Does anyone understand what I mean? I just feel the getting to know each other part is the least interesting part of dating but essential so much that we cannot skip it as we’ve seen on love is blind.
