I feel like most of my friends are in unconventional relationships. Three of my five groomspeople are in open relationships and either have been in or are currently in poly situations.

I knew a couple in college who had a study abroad arrangement: don’t ask, don’t tell, but definitely don’t have sex with anyone else. One member of the couple came home as a surprise and — surprise! — found their partner in bed with someone else. 

I wish I had something exciting. My circle seems so boring but maybe, mAaaaaybe they’re hiding something from me?? Now that would be exciting 

I know a throuple IRL! It is made up of three men. Two were a couple before and brought in the third (my friend). He doesn't live with them, though the other two live together. He sees them most nights though for dates / spends the weekends together. When I've been with them in public, he definitely seems like the odd man out, but if he's happy and they're happy, then far be it from me to criticize! 

My SO has a college friend who, every three months, updates his FB with photos of him and his fiancé. The rub is: The fiancé is new and different each time, and the old fiancé pictures are completely erased from his profile. The thing all these women do have in common? They're all from other countries. 

Pretty sure it's a green card scam he's running, but it's fascinating to watch. 

I have a friend who has been casually dating her friend's ex-husband for some time and they were set up...by the ex-wife. 

There is a couple I know who feel like they have a business hour relationship. Legit, Monday through Friday they are committed and monogamous but on the weekends they can do whatever they want and it’s not counted as cheating.
