Oh not only does it work but sometimes it’s preferred. You feel like you know that person a little bit already so it’s easier to curve them or talk to them.

Honestly? Yeah! I mean it's not always gonna work but if it's someone you've had a crush on and they DM you (or vice versa) it can be a pretty decent success rate. 

I'm also curious if anyone would ever try sliding into a famous person's DM to shoot their shot. (And by famous, I don't mean, like, Brad Pitt, but, like, Greg Grippo famous.) 

I have never had the guts to do it but I have friends who have and it has worked. Hasn't really led to any longterm relationships that I can think of, but if you're a mutual friend of someones and slide in, I think you've got a pretty good chance at a response.

I feel like I've seen a lot of stories that have come out about famous people caught for DM'ing regular people trying to hook up and I've always been shocked because I had no idea that could work? Also, aren't there a lot of scammers out there? IDK!
