- Pop Chaser -Who Is This Season's 'Bachelorette' Villain, Really?
We knew Katie's season of The Bachelorette would be a season of changes. For one, Chris Harrison would no longer be around to keep count of the roses. And then there's the consistent leaning in when it comes to all matters of flannel. But we're seeing a shift in a previously familiar plot device that is making it somewhat confusing to keep track of who to root for. Because rather than one villain, Katie's The Bachelorette is highlighting a villain of the week.
Previous seasons have directed us, the viewer, to root against the Courtney Robertsons, the Chad Johnsons, and the Queen Victoria Larsons for as long as they remained on the season (which was often deemed too long by some fans). But with Katie aptly identifying and cutting the villain each week (hello Karl and Thomas), production has presumably had to scramble to create a personality for us to root against. So while we might have been fond of Hunter last week, this week, he's persona non grata within Bachelor Nation.
Even if Bachelor Nation itself is acknowledging there's more to the story. Katie tweeted following Monday's episode — which placed Hunter in a bad light — that there's a lot that viewers don't see.
But with hints of Greg's future shadiness perhaps casting him as an upcoming villain, it's hard to know: who are we even supposed to like? (Except Michael A. Must protect cinnamon roll Michael A.)
