I often hear from new Outlander watchers that Claire is always getting Jamie into trouble. Look, it's a fair criticism at times, I'm not going to be a naysayer and deny that Claire isn't sometimes the reason for Jamie and her troubles. But it is a huge understatement to say that Claire is the only reason. Join me on this journey, will you?
Claire and Jamie (AND JAMIE) have brought a fair amount of drama onto themselves in the five seasons of Outlander. The same is true in Diana Gabaldon's books too. Sure, sometimes circumstances are beyond their control, or another character puts them in a precarious position — but that's not what we're talking about here. Simply put, Jamie and Claire are the type of people who want to jump headfirst into a situation and save the day. An admirable quality, yes, but their foolhardiness can often lead to them hurting themselves, one another, or innocent bystanders.
So I did what any rational person would do — I outlined every single one of Jamie and Claire's major scrapes, pickles, binds, conundrums, quagmires, what have you, and grabbed my gavel to judge them to get to the bottom of who was more to blame.
And for those who are quick to point the finger at Claire, read on my friends.
Season 1
Season 1 incidents are mainly caused by Claire being a secret time traveler — she can't help that! Things would turn catastrophically bad for you, too, if you traveled back in time unexpectedly.
