The fire was such a huge deal in my personal opinion that it needs to happen! Maybe it’s not central to the plot as much as other things but I vividly remember it so I’d like to see it play out

It's going to be tough to fit it in. It's going to have to be an EVENT, and I think something that would need more time and care. I would bet they push it. 

The moment I saw that the season was going to be shorter than originally planned I thought this exact same thing. I would hate for them to RUSH through the season just to get to the house fire, but how satisfying would it be for the final shot of the season to be the big BOOM. And then cut to black! Chills just thinking about it. 

I doubt we'll see it in S6. I think they have to do it at some point. Otherwise, why would they have Bree and Roger find the article of the fire that sends them back to J&C in the first place? How they'll do it remains to be seen--torch the set or CGI? I've seen pictures on social media within the past month (so S6 had wrapped) that were taken by fans that made it to the fence line of the set, the Big House still stands. 

I feel like the fire won't happen. I think Starz wants to keep Jamie and Claire alive for marketing reasons ... movies, dolls, conferences, etc -- and since fans are such die hards, they  want them thinking that Jamie and Claire are alive forever. I don't blame them!

I think this is something us book readers and non-book readers can discuss together...

I was SO convinced that the house fire that Brianna and Roger read about in the newspaper had to happen in Season 6. (I mean, the season's based on a book called A Breath of Snow and ASHES, what else are we to think?) But now I'm feeling like the show already has so much to pack in with just 8 eps, it's not going to happen. What are you all thinking about Season 6 + that highly-anticipated house fire that allegedly kills Claire and Jamie?!
