Streaming Pet Peeve

After listening to Stephen Merchant on the latest episode of Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend, I decided that it was time for an Extras rewatch for the first time in a decade.

The problem is... it's nowhere to be found. It was last on Netflix in 2018, but it's been stripped from streaming. You can't even buy it anymore on Amazon, for some reason.

This leads me to one of my biggest streaming pet peeves: not only do we have to chase shows around, based on who currently has the rights, but we can't even feel any real ownership over them. At least when we purchased DVDs back in the day, we had the hardware in our homes — we could always pop it in whenever we wanted to watch something, because we owned it. Now, we're at the mercy of whatever backroom negotiations happen.

This rage is coming mostly from a place of me being pissed that I can't watch Extras outside of 3-minute YouTube clips, but c'mon, all this stuff is jerking us around enough already!
