I would totally do a first look I think for your same reasoning. I think I would be way less nervous walking down the aisle too.

I am Jewish. Jewish weddings can start late, like ours because of sundown. We had to do pictures before the ceremony.  Lets face it.. after the ceremony it is hard to gather everyone for the traditional wedding party photos. It is so romantic for the groom to see the bride for the first time walking down the aisle.  Unfortunately it is not always the best if you want those gorgeous family/wedding party shots.

Nah, but I'm honestly pretty cynical about all the traditions. None of it matters 15 years in. You'll have wonderful memories of the day, but no single decision matters that much. Go with the flow, make fast decisions, and you'll enjoy everything as much if not more than if you stress over every detail.

I think it depends who you are and what you prioritize. It’s much more convenient to do it beforehand, but I also felt kinda silly with the “first look.” (Everyone is watching you, but it feels more staged than when you’re at the altar.)

Ultimately, all that matters is that you have a fun time, no matter how traditional you are or not. 

I loved my First Look with my husband it just made me so much more calm and at ease that we saw each other before the wedding.  We didn’t allow any of our bridal party to watch our first look, we literally just had us and the photographers and had a glass of champagne and were laughing and those are some of my favorite photos of the day. It made the ceremony to us - a part of our day and not we had to have the ceremony to get married. TBH whatever makes you comfortable 

First looks are more convenient and make the wedding schedule easier, so I 100% understand why people do it - but I’ll tell you, 7 years later, I still can vividly remember walking down the aisle and seeing my husband for the first time. It was so exciting and at the same time so calming. It met and exceeded my dream expectations that I had all my life. 

I’m pro anything that gets me to the bar sooner! 😂 

For me, the best thing about doing the first look and pictures before the wedding was my husband and I were able to start having fun IMMEDIATELY. Photos are still a stressful process, and doing pictures after means, most likely, that you miss the cocktail hour. And I like cocktails far too much to miss that. It’s the best part!

Since going to a wedding last weekend, my friends and I have been pondering on the first look idea. I’ve always been a traditional gal and thought I could never see my husband until I was walking down the aisle. Now I’m seeing lots of couples do a first look, take their photos, have the ceremony and reception right after and honestly it sounds great. I also just love how the moment is only the couple at the first look, I feel like that would be more meaningful to be together for that. 

But then again the thought of walking down the aisle for the first time is so sweet and classic idk!

Obviously I have got a while until I have to make that decision but just wanted to hear everyone’s opinions! First look or nah?
