Knock on wood, I've only lost/damaged one phone, and it was an LG flip phone from like 2009. It fell out of my pocket into a puddle when I was getting out of a yellow cab on First Ave and 2nd Street. Can't walk by that intersection to this day without taking a peek to see if it's there somewhere. 

I’m infamous for not having a case on my phone because it looks sexier. I was walking from  the pool lathered in chlorine and it came time for me to either save the bottle of alcohol j was carrying or my phone from a fall and I thought since I’ve dropped my phone a bunch it will be okay little did I know that thang cracked ALLLL the way through

I had two phones that passed away within one month of each other. 

The first was indeed particularly gruesome — I asked my husband to hold it in his pocket while we rode the Six Flags Superman ride, and, well, it didn’t make it to the end. Found it face down on a slap of concrete in an employees-only area of the ride.

The second died one month later during a hike in Hawaii when we hit sudden, torrential downpour. Drowned in my backpack. 

When I was in college I drunkenly flipped off a couch and shattered my phone. I wish I was kidding. I brought it to this cheap phone repair place and went through a cycle of anytime it would drop the screen would go black (including one traumatic time at a football game where I had to leave and get it fixed and was anxiety-ridden for several hours HA). I probably shelled over $700 to this phone repair place before I just sucked it up and bought a new phone. 

Dropped it face down in an elevator and it messed the screen up so bad it wouldn't even turn on!
