Scientology has me on a list! that's both a blessing and a curse. 

My ex took me to a Landmark conference years ago. It was the closest thing to a cult that I’ve ever experienced. His former employer bought us tickets, and when we got there, let me tell you, they can get to you. It went from discussing future goals in the first hour, to retramautizing you the next with your previous traumatizing experiences. All to get to know you and break you down. There were a lot of people there, all brought in by someone close they knew.

No, but dying to have some sort of insider info on any sort of cult.

My parents are active in a cult. It's disguised as self-help, but really just an expensive grift where they are constantly bombarded to pay for more classes. It hasn't really affected me yet but my parents have asked me to try a class sometime. I went to an intro session but quickly left. 

C'mon, we've all been approached for MLMs. No thanks, Deb! 

I need to know what’s your closest encounter with a cult. I actually have no stories thank God but I know a couple people who do.

was it Scientology? Jehovah’s Witness? Something different completely?
