Agreed. The damage is done to the very idea of awards shows and taking Hollywood seriously to any extent. It seemed like such a blip, but will always be remembered as a horrible moment in the industry, for all those who participate in it. 

I think that's why it feels so yucky. From actors, writers, producers, folks who work for media companies that cover culture, everyone who considers themselves a part of entertainment, it's such a blow to a craft that always held itself to higher standards.

totally agree. hard to reconcile his apology with his "i am a vessel of pure love" speech immediately after The Slap. This is a PR fabrication. 

I personally think that his PR team wrote his apology. I also read that there is history between Jada and Chris Rock which is why he was already on the edge? Not sure what to believe. All I know is that his behavior was unjustifiable and I personally don't think he is sorry. 

Did Will Smith mean his apology?
