I saw "Mandy Moore" and immediately thought "Candy," because it's SO easy to sing. So, chances are, I'm not screwing that one up too much. 

But my karaoke show stopper is Amy Winehouse's "Me and Mr. Jones," and that gives me deep-cut clout, so maybe I'd go with that. 

Not to completely steal a plot line from GIRLS, but I'd genuinely want to audition with Let Me Be Your Star from the short-lived, robbed-of-time NBC cult favorite, SMASH. It's drama! It's high notes! It's low notes! It's Marilyn! 

If Simon were still there, “Unchained Melody,” since that’s his favorite song. 

Otherwise, I think I would go ‘90s rock just to show something different. A take on Blind Melon or Sublime or something.

I was washing dishes and listening to “This Is Mandy Moore” on Spotify (naturally), and not to pat myself on the back, but I KILLED “Only Hope” when I sang along. So I said, out loud - to myself - “Oh, I’m going to audition for American Idol with this song.”
