'I Know What You Did Last Summer' Ep. 2 Recap: Heads Will Roll

Welcome to my weekly recaps of Amazon's I Know What You Did Last Summer. In the first episode, Allison returns home a year after accidentally murdering her sister in a hit and run, disposing of her body in a seaside cave, and stealing her identity. Oops!

The second episode, “It’s Not Just for Dog Shit,” begins in a flashback, with Allison arriving at home, visibly shaken up, after the accident. Her father comforts her, but more so, comforts me when I realized he knows it’s Allison. Thank God. I truly thought we'd spend this entire series with the twins’ father unable to tell his adult children apart, and that was a level of disbelief I wasn't going to be able to suspend.

But no, he's well aware. So much so, that he assists her in living out the lie that Allison ran away. Forces her to, in fact. When Allison tells him she is going to turn herself in to the police, he stops her from doing so, saying he can't manage to lose both of his daughters; she must live the rest of her life as Lennon. Wow, OK. That’s a choice, Dad.

Back in current day, Allennon (that's what we'll be referring to Allison as Lennon from now on) decides not to tell her father about the goat head in her closet nor the foreboding message on her mirror. The conversation they’re awkwardly not having is interrupted by blood splattering on the kitchen window before a dead possum comes crashing through. Allennon screams (as did I), assuming this is another ominous message. Not to fear, though; it's just Courtney, the family's cleaning lady (and Riley's mom), taking care of the "asshole that's been spraying his seed all over the house." Now that's service. How can I hire Courtney?
