What Do You Put In Your Oatmeal?

I may be telling on myself, but I come from a very "Roseanne" (read: white trash) upbringing, so my breakfast of choice is flavored instant oatmeal. Tear open those small paper pouches, add water, and plop in the microwave until you are gifted with a Peaches & Cream breakfast to jumpstart your morning.

Recently (today), I decided - I'm 35. It's time to upgrade to REAL oatmeal. So I tried. But it tasted - not great. I'm missing the days of my cinnamon and spice, maple & brown sugar, apples & cinnamon instant gratification.

So, I NEED to know - what do you put in your oatmeal to really gussy it up? I tried vanilla extract, almond milk, brown sugar, and cinnamon, and I wasn't a fan. It was barely edible until I added... please don't judge me... salt.

PLEASE help your boy out because I'm ready to be a part of the Tanner family and leave my Connor upbringing behind.
