Hardcore Cheer fans will be happy to see that most of their beloved tumblers and top girls are back for Season 2 on Netflix. La'Darius Marshall, Gabi Butler, Morgan Simianer, Lexi Brumback, and even Jerry Harris appear for the first handful of episodes of the docuseries, until filming of the show eventually catches up to the coronavirus pandemic and the cancellation of the Daytona championships in April 2020. When the cameras turned back on in September 2020, everything was different.
By September 2020, Coach Monica Aldama is appearing on Dancing With The Stars, Jerry Harris was arrested on child pornography and sexual misconduct charges, and some of the old crew had graduated out of the cheer program. La'Darius returns for 2020, only to eventually leave Navarro due to issues with Monica and new assistant coach, Kailee Peppers. Gabi is the only one to make it to the bandshell in April 2021, leaving all of us wondering where the other two all-stars, Morgan and Lexi ended up.
Lexi Brumback
After being kicked off the team for having illegal substances in the Cheer Season 1 finale, Monica eventually lets Lexi back on the team in 2020. But when things shut down due to coronavirus. Lexi graduated out of the program and is seemingly a full time influencer on Instagram and TikTok.
Her Insta bio boasts multiple partnerships, including being a Savage x Fenty ambassador, which means she caught Rihanna's attention. However, as every single cheer alum says in the Netflix series, it's hard to leave the mat behind and Lexi seems to be no different. Although she's not cheering competitively anywhere anymore, Lexi has started her own training program. It seems like anyone can take it online, but if I were you, I'd start with the cartwheel before you attempt to tumble in your living room.
Morgan Simianer
Leaving the mat behind seems to have been no problem for Morgan, however. Competing at Daytona in 2020 would have been her last year at Navarro College anyway, so when they pick up in the fall, she had already graduated out of the program. Unlike Kailee Peppers or some of the other old heads on the squad, Morgan has taken the fame from Cheer Season 1 and ran with it. Good on her!
Morgan has partnerships with CVS Beauty, Scunci, and a bunch of other fashion and makeup companies, per her Instagram. In fact, she's barely posted about cheerleading in a year, despite some half hearted attempts to promote Season 2 of Cheer. Instead, it looks like she's auditioning to be a Bachelor contestant (or The Bachelorette?!) which is something I personally could fully get behind. That being said, with the release of Cheer Season 2, these two pros could always return to the mat for another go in some capacity, someday. When their brand sponsorships end, of course.
