Everyone notices everyone's hair. It's the first thing you see then you see their teeth and judge from there. It's not the nicest thing, but hey, it's the truth. What I notice about a haircut is if the layers blend together and arent so harsh. I hate when they are so blunt and you can see it like a layered cake. It's... just not it. 

I don't think I notice a bad cut BUT I can see a bad style. Like, sometimes you see women who have straight ironed their hair to death and they have split ends all over the place. I've also seen a mullet style that come back into fashion -- Idk if I'd call that a bad cut but just a style that I think looks ridiculous! Same goes for the bangs that are like 2" long --- not a style I'd go for but technically not a bad cut?

I never notice, good or bad. (Unless it's, like, REAL bad.) But everyone knows their own hair and face so well that it's inevitable that there will be disappointment when one thing is out of place for them. It's honestly like zits — you mostly can't tell when someone has one, but it's all they can think about. 

I'm working on two years of at-home haircuts. Sometimes I'd make my sister do it when she was in town, sometimes I'd just take some sheers to my ends and do it myself. 

My hair is curly, but I often straighten it when I need to guarantee that I look presentable. 

I'm wondering, when straightened, if people can tell that my haircut is sh*t.

Then I wondered, do people really notice these things?
