The whole thing is really sad. I wish more of the news surrounding this was about Kanye's mental health. His behavior (especially towards his family) is really alarming.

My question is… why would Pete’s friend leak this? 

It was interesting to see that Pete was behind the lack of Kanye in SNL, I know that's something a lot of people were curious about!

Honestly, I thought this text chain was extremely sus. I still am not sure about it.

can't help but think that they're all in on it together. the Batman afterparty was at Pete's bar and they played Kanye all night... and Kanye's going to be on the Kardashian's Hulu show... 

For quite some time now Kanye has been harassing Pete and Kim to put it mildly. And for the most part, they have stayed quiet and out of the drama. Well today, via Pete's friend Dave, text messages were shared from Pete to Kanye. Of course he had to throw in a jab like "in bed with your wife" but as the conversation went on, it was really just Pete coming to Kanye, "man to man" to just put an end to all this. And honestly, it was kind of nice to see Pete talking to Kanye in a respectful and empathetic way. Pete has been very open about his mental health struggles in the past, and was extending help to Kanye. Even saying that he told SNL they can't do skits on the situation which apparently they've wanted to do for months.
