Did Monique Samuels Just Quit 'Real Housewives Of Potomac'?

It turns out Monique Samuels' Real Housewives of Potomac reunion binder wasn't just a binder full of receipts and tea, it might also have contained her exit strategy. Monique announced she's leaving RHOP on Sunday, Dec. 27, after the final part of the reunion aired on Bravo. Though the network has yet to confirm the news, it seems the Housewife is pretty determined not to return for a Season 6.

Monique told fans of her decision in an Instagram Live after the reunion. "It was a crazy, crazy ride. It's not easy doing realty TV, and to be quite honest y'all, I'm over it," she said. "I appreciate everything that people have done for me, everybody that's been Team Monique — I love y'all, I thank y'all — but when you cross certain lines there's no going back." She went on to site her family has her main reason for wanting to leave the show, adding, "The opinion of my family and my kids and what they think about anything that I do is more valuable to me than anybody's opinion, so I'm over it."

She also hinted at mistreatment within the show, saying, "Gaslight me once, gaslight me twice, gaslight me three times? No." Based on her tweets from Sunday night, it seems likely that she's alluding to how her family's conflict with Gizelle Bryant was portrayed in the reunion. Despite playing an admittedly threatening
Instagram Live video by Monique and her husband, Chris Samuels, at the RHOP reunion, Andy Cohen seemed to shut down any attempts Monique and Chris made to try to explain the context of their actions at the reunion, prompting Monique to head to Twitter to set the record straight.

For those who don't know, Chris apologized to Gizelle for threatening her, and said that he was just trying to protect his child from rumors that circulated behind the scenes of RHOP that he wasn't the father of one of their sons. Andy, however, didn't pay that much attention to those rumors and the alleged plot to get the rumor on the air as part of the show, which Monique did not appreciate. "Gaslighting to the 100th degree! The fact that they would show me and my husband's IG Live but not show the reason we went Live in the first place?" she tweeted, alongside a clip of Candiace Dillard seemingly confirming the plot against Monique. "The fact I've had to put on a smile and keep working," Monique added.

This reunion edit might have been the last straw for Monique. In her Instagram Live on Dec. 27, she said that she had been "looking forward to" showcasing her new business ventures on the show — namely her recently launched essential oils line, suggesting that she had been planning to return for RHOP Season 6. Alas, she said, "enough is enough."

For those hoping that she isn't really leaving the show since she didn't actually say the words explicitly, Monique basically confirmed that she was leaving RHOP on Twitter, replying to a fan who wrote about how sad they were that Monique was "quitting and won't return for Season 6," and thanking them for their support.

We'll miss you, Monique. May you and T'Challa fly onto bigger and better things.
