Our Podcast Tells The Story Of The Gone-Too-Soon 'Happy Endings'

In some sense, they should have seen it coming — after all, naming your series Happy Endings is inviting a jinx, right? Well, in the case of ABC's 2011 three-season wonder, it was, eschewing a happily ever after for a decade full of fans decrying its cancellation. But, before it was unceremoniously removed from our television screens, how did Happy Endings get its start?

That's what my co-host Allison Piwowarski and I explore in our latest episode of our TV origin stories podcast, TV. Watch. Repeat. In this episode, we dive into the inspiration for Happy Endings, how the cast had to work around the crew to heighten the comedy even further, and how the cast became as close as their on-screen characters. (Spoiler alert: One story involves Captain America himself, Chris Evans.)

So throw on a v-neck, kick back, and listen to our new episode of TV. Watch. Repeat. on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Also, be sure to check out our daily pop culture podcast, Pop Chaser, as well as Christian Gray Snow's The Slut Pig Podcast and Samantha Bush's Hot Off The Mess.

Now, let's go back to 2011, to a happy beginning. Once upon a time...
