Netflix Announces New Seasons Of 'You,' 'The Witcher,' & 'Cobra Kai' Will Premiere This Year

I've never been this excited to see a serial killer in my entire life. On Tuesday, April 20, Netflix confirmed that You and other hit shows would return before the end of 2021. And I feel like a prisoner in Joe's glass cage finally getting some food and water.

Before you get too excited, You doesn't have an official release date yet, but it's been such a wild two years for TV, I'll take what I can get. Just knowing that Joe and Love's serial killer baby will be on my screen before the end of the year is enough for now.

Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos announced the news of You's imminent return during an investor video, per Deadline, promising that three of Netflix's most highly-anticipated shows, You, The Witcher, and Cobra Kai will return with new episodes in the fourth quarter of the year. So, expect to see Joe Goldberg set his sights on his new neighbor sometime between October and December. (My guess is we'll get Season 2 of The Witcher, a fantasy show about a monster hunter, around Halloween.)

Based on showrunner Sera Gamble's Instagram updates, You Season 3 should be nearing the end of production soon. On April 9, she shared the front page of the script for Season 3, Episode 10 — aka the season finale — with the caption, "getting closer." Meanwhile, she seemed to confirm that You would be back with a new season before the end of the year, sharing the Netflix announcement on Wednesday morning and adding, "The serious part is that our team has been kicking ass to make this season while enacting COVID precautions that transformed everything about our jobs, and I'm so proud of everyone."
