Teresa Giudice's Lawyer On Erika Girardi Legal Drama: "We're Getting Into Some Murky Waters"

When attorney James L. Leonard Jr., last talked to The Slut Pig Podcast's Christian Gray Snow about Erika and Tom Girardi's legal issues, he struck an optimistic tone, insisting "life will move on" for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star. But following the airing of The Housewife & The Hustler, and the news that Erika's lawyers had dropped her as a client, he was feeling... well, significantly less than optimistic. "We're getting into some murky waters here," he said. "When the going gets tough, lawyers aren't to get going. Lawyers are supposed to stay with their clients through when the going gets tough."

Of course, since Christian chatted with Leonard, Erika's legal team unexpectedly welcomed her back. So what exactly is going on behind-the-scenes? Leonard — who served as Teresa Giudice's attorney — can't know for sure, but says there are some specific situations that could have led to a legal team backing out, even if just temporarily: One, the case could seem bigger than they had anticipated; or two, "she might not have been being honest with them, which gave them some pause." Continues Leonard, "Either way, it is messy, and it's never a good thing when the lawyer throws a former client under the bus a little bit in a public way like this."

Listen to The Slut Pig Podcast for more on why Leonard thinks Tom and Erika "painted themselves in a dark corner here," and whether or not The Housewife & The Hustler documentary might have led to Erika's legal team's exit. (But, we all can agree with one thing: "If I'm a producer on this documentary, I don't know that I'm leading with Danielle Staub," Leonard says. Amen.)

Plus, Christian welcomes Watch What Happens Live digital associate producer Frank Costa to chat the Real Housewives of Orange County cast shake-up, why all newbies should have two seasons, and what it's like being back in the studio after a very long year at home.

And don't forget — when you listen to the podcast on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts, remember to rate and review! But, as Christian says, small talk is like small dicks, and nobody likes a small dick, so let's just get down to it — listen to the brand-new episode below!
