Denis Morton's 20 Minute Climb Review: Lip-Synching, Saddle Dancing, & Hair (Lots Of Hair)

Welcome to Pelo Talk, where we'll consistently update every now and again with articles and thoughts that relate to Peloton. In this column, journey with Watch What Crappens host Ben Mandelker as he rides along with Denis Morton, and begrudges every pedal of the way.

My journey with the Peloton bike is still young. I’ve notched about twelve or thirteen workouts so far, and I’m sweating more than I have in months. There were definitely some struggles at first — mainly with the bike itself. Clipping into the pedals proved to be a challenge I was not ready for. On my very first ride, my foot slipped mid-clipping, and my groin smashed down on the saddle. All that was missing was a slide whistle and a DOIIINGAAAH. You would have thought I had fallen into one of Kevin McCallister’s booby traps.

Now, however, I can clip into the bike like an awkward ostrich — which is to say, I get it done, but it’s not something anyone needs to see. My perpetual butt soreness is finally gone, and I’ve learned how to dismount without having parts of my shoe go flying across the room. Progress.

With the basics out of the way, I’m now focused on getting to know the instructors. I’ve sampled the likes of Cody, Ally, and others to great effect. Tonight, I take on Denis Morton.
