Let's Talk About Khloé Kardashian's Bikini Photo

Who knew one bikini pic on social media could inspire so much discourse? An allegedly un-retouched photo of Khloé Kardashian in a bikini has inspired heated debates on social media editing, beauty standards, and the reign of the Kardashian family over pop culture this week. And we at The Dipp are here to help you keep up with the Khloé Kardashian bikini photo controversy, what it means, and where we go from here. Join in on the conversation by hitting that floating green comment bubble and tell us what you think.

What Happened

This all started on Monday, April 5, when Page Six reported that the Kardashian team was trying to scrub a photo of Khloé from the internet. The photo featured Khloé in a string bikini — nothing new there — and was originally shared on social media by MJ, Khloé's grandmother who frequently appears on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and has since been deleted, but not before some fans could snag screenshots of their own.

Tracy Romulus, chief marketing office of KKW Brands, confirmed that they were moving to remove the picture from circulation, telling Page Six, "The color edited photo was taken of Khloé during a private family gathering and posted to social media without permission by mistake by an assistant." And fans started noticing when Twitter account @KosmeticKrys claimed their page had been locked due to a copyright complaint after reposting the image. Other accounts have similarly claimed they've been locked after posting.
