Erika Girardi's Husband Tom Loses Law License Amid Legal Battle

After being hospitalized due to "serious illness" in December and being put under a temporary conservatorship in February, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Girardi's estranged husband Tom Girardi has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. According to multiple reports, the once celebrated attorney has also been stripped of his law license and can no longer practice in California.

Girardi, 81, was reportedly diagnosed after his younger brother and tentative conservator, Robert Girardi, requested a mental assessment. Per People, Girardi is suffering from dementia, and has "moderate impairment" of short-term memory, comprehension, recognition, and concentration. The diagnosis comes in the midst of massive legal troubles for Girardi, who is currently being sued by his former law firm partner, Robert Keese, as well as attorneys Robert Finnerty and Jill O'Callahan. He is also facing a class-action lawsuit regarding funds from a Lion Air settlement, as well as a suit from Wells Fargo Financial Services.

Not to mention, his divorce from Erika is still in the works. She filed in November, citing irreconcilable differences. Last we heard, both Erika and Girardi had asked for spousal support, with both requesting that they not be required to give spousal support to the other.

Meanwhile, Erika has yet to comment on her husband's condition, though she did share a post on Instagram Wednesday, March 10, that read, "Do not judge. You don't know what storm I've asked her to walk through. — God." But while she may be silent for now, odds are she'll be addressing this drama on the new season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The Bravo show is currently in the middle of filming Season 11, and reports have already claimed that Erika is getting ready to tell all. Or, tell as much as she's legally allowed, anyways.

"She's going to tell her story and she's not going to hold back," a source told Us Weekly. "in the past when they filmed, Erika protected Tom at all costs, but this time around is going to be different." A separate source reportedly added that the Housewife had "been advised on what she can put out there [legally]," but that her divorce will definitely be a topic of conversation this season.

Fans are expecting Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to return with new episodes before the end of 2021.
