There Are Deleted 'Bridgerton' Sex Scenes You Didn't See

Listen up, dear readers, there is a dazzling new development in the ton. In case you weren't already aware, as a complement to the hit Shondaland series, there is an official Bridgerton podcast doling out all kinds of juicy behind-the-scenes tidbits about the making of the period drama. And in a recent episode, we learned — are you sitting down? — there was a deleted Bridgerton sex scene that didn't make the final series.

Hosted by Gabrielle Collins and Bridgerton writer Jess Brownell, each episode of the podcast breaks down the anatomy of pivotal moments from the series, like the Duke's spoon scene, with the show's directors and executive producer, Shonda Rhimes.

In the April 8 episode, intimacy coordinator, Lizzy Talbot, disclosed that there were quite a number of sex scenes involving Simon that didn't make the show. "I can think of potentially at least 10 that didn't make the final cut," Talbot said in the episode.

Many of the scenes caught Simon in a more scantily clad position with women other than Daphne than we saw in the series, buffing up his rakish reputation and giving even more credence as to why Anthony Bridgerton was so opposed to a courtship between his school pal and his sister. Take the trailer for Season 1, for example. If you jump to the 1:15 mark, you'll notice Simon getting out of bed with a lady.

According to Talbot, another deleted scene saw Simon traversing the Dark Walk where he meets with various prostitutes and, as Talbot vaguely alludes to, is "sort of doing various things with them."

The final scene Talbot says was filmed but edited out of Season 1 was a threesome with Simon. I, for one, truly wonder if it would have put Benedict's tryst with Madame Delacroix and Lucy Granville to shame.

Now, I propose that in light of the Duke's absence next season, Netflix may as well just release his deleted intimate scenes to lessen the blow. Just a humble suggestion, on behalf of the Queen's dutiful subjects who are hastily awaiting Season 2, as well as the newly announced Seasons 3 and 4.
