One minute, you're taking in the energy of an iconic silver-haired actor and her wife in some power pajamas. The next, you're Googling a football reference. This awards show is full of surprises! So, why did Jodie Foster thank Aaron Rodgers in her Golden Globes speech? It's a Green Bay Packers thing, and a Shailene Woodley thing.

On February 6, Rodgers accepted an MVP Award and in his acceptance speech, he thanked Foster. As GQ reported, he could be thanking any Jodie Foster, but now that Foster herself has thanked Rodgers back, it seems like he was, indeed, talking about the actor when he mentioned her name in his speech.

Foster is a Packers fan, but besides that.. it's rumored that Foster introduced Rodgers to his fiance, Woodley. Foster and Woodley had just wrapped filming Mauritanian, and given that she's a Rodgers' fan... you see where this is going.

Foster told the Today Show that she's never met Rodgers, but when Foster was asked if his "thank you" had anything to do with Woodley, Foster said: "Yes, it might."
