I'm sure that Ryan Murphy cast Connie Britton in the first installment of American Horror Story back in 2011 for her many, many talents. But it probably helped that Connie Britton is really good at looking scared. As Vivien in AHS: Murder House, she had plenty to be horrified by with a cheating husband, being haunted by ghosts that she didn't know were ghosts, giving birth to Satan's baby, yadda yadda yadda. But as I've watched Britton in oh-so-many other TV shows, I realized that she has a gift for looking truly terrified.
Whether she's putting her hand over her mouth in shock or getting wide-eyed, Britton displays just how much range the singular emotion of fear can have.
